How to choose VMC cutting fluid?

Release Time:2020-03-31Hits:

When using a CNC machining center for high-precision and high-intensity machining. Such as broaching, tapping, deep holes or drilling, you need to choose a cleaning fluid with good lubricity to ensure the quality of the process. Following we can make reference selection based on the material of the tool.

     1.High-speed steel cutter

When processing high-speed rough cutting in CNC machining center, the cutting volume is large and cutting heat is generated. Therefore, it is better to use a water-based cutting fluid with good cooling performance. If high speed steel tools used for low speed processing, it is generally adopted Oil based cutting fluid or high-concentration emulsion, that can help reduce the friction and adhesion between the tool and workpiece, and suppress the generation of cutting knobs, and improve the accuracy of processing.

2.Tool steel tool

Because the heat-resistant temperature is 200 300 ℃, the heat-resistant performance is poor, and the machining easily loses the hardness of the tool at high temperature, so it is necessary to use cutting fluid with good cooling performance and low concentration.

     3.Ceramic, diamond tools

The tool with high hardness and wear resistance, machining do not use cutting fluids during cutting generally, and sometimes water-based cutting fluids can also be used.

     4.Carbide-tipped tool

Due to high melting point, high hardness, good chemical and thermal stability, cutting and abrasion resistance are much better than high-speed steel tools, oil-based cutting fluid can be used in ordinary machining. But if heavy cutting, the cutting temperature is high and easy fast-wearing tools, need to increasing the cutting fluid flow of the CNC machining center to ensure sufficient cooling and lubrication.

Whether in the working environment or during the operation of the machining center, the cutting fluid may be contaminated. Once the cutting fluid found to be deteriorated, discolored, or has an odor. It should be replaced with a new clean oil in a timely manner.
